If re-elected to Cabonne Council you can expect me to
Respect Environment
Our environment is precious, which is why I will only promote Council programs and activities that protect and restore our landscapes. I will promote the planting of more trees across our region for wildlife protection and will prioritise funding for weed and feral animal control.
Respect People
Cabonne is a Wiradjuri word meaning ‘large’. I respect and honour the elders of the Wiradjuri nation, and will continue to advocate for better health outcomes and the protection of cultural heritage. As one of the earliest historical areas of the State, I also support the protection of our important European cultural heritage.
Respect Cabonne
I will fight for the rights of all the people of Cabonne to ensure their voices are heard.
Fight for better roads
So many of our roads are in a terrible state especially since the recent floods. We have soils and cool climate that promote potholes and damage road surfaces. I will seek better road infrastructure funding models from State and Federal Govts that take into account our specific regional needs. Better roads are safer for all, will improve transport of sensitive produce to market, and may even help promote road biking tourism.
Better maintained Town and Village Infrastructure
Parks, gardens, footpaths and community pools are where we meet, eat, play and entertain. I will advocate for improved shading in community areas, better streetscapes, and further tree plantings.
Encourage Innovation and New Technologies
Electric vehicles are becoming more common and I will advocate for improved access to charging stations throughout the region. I am a strong believer in renewable energy and will improve the ability for all householders to gain access to solar panels where appropriate. While I am an advocate for solar and wind farms, these should be located according to the wishes of the community, and in locations where their visual impact is reduced and their efficiency is optimised.
